Health Care Futures Consultants have graduate degrees (MBA, MHA, and/or JD) from top national institutions and previous experience in the health care industry. They are instrumental in every phase of consulting assignments and must be able to work effectively with clients at the CEO/CFO/board member level. Applicants for a Consultant position must exhibit evidence of strong analytical ability, demonstrated interest in the health care industry, excellent communication (written and presentation) skills, leadership, initiative, motivation, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to travel. Successful candidates are able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively. Responsibilities include conducting interviews with clients, assisting in facilitating meetings with senior management, conducting industry and competitive research, analyzing financial and market information, and presenting findings and recommendations to clients.

Career progression to Manager typically occurs after 3–5 years of successful work in the Consultant role, with demonstrated proficiency in delivering accurate work on schedule, an ability to effectively interact with personnel at multiple levels in client organizations, and a beginning ability to identify client needs and promote the firm with contributions to the proposal and sales process. Upon demonstrated success in managing client engagements and relationships, contributions to the firm's client base and industry body of knowledge, and furthering the culture and success of the firm, Partnership opportunities will be considered.
